STREET DANCE / FREESTYLE – KAISA NIEMINEN
This year at the camp, my classes will dive into the experiential and intimate nature of dancing—exploring the questions that arise from it: ecstasy, sensitivity, aggression, the rawness of movement, and the charged tension of dancing together. We will dance to bass-heavy music, moving our own realities outward through the body. Classes will include both activating warm-ups and longer practices that invite you to deepen your own way of sensing dance and music.
My background is in street dance, especially hip hop and punking/whacking, and this strongly shapes my artistic practice and my relationship with embodied movement. |
